FAQ

why do I need you?

Your divorce is as unique as your marriage. I take time to work with you, one-on-one, to create the most gentle extraction of your spouse from your life. I understand the pain points in divorce (for moms: letting go of your kids for overnights at dad’s house; for dads: paying mom 17% or more of their pre-tax income in NY even if the kids spend equal amounts of time at both houses). I understand the challenges dads throw back at moms as dads begin to contend with solo-parenting.

When you hire me, I am available to you at all hours of the day, any day of the week, to help guide you through your ex’s latest text message or email exchange. I will keep the goals of harmonious co-parenting, fiscal responsibility, and creating a clear parenting plan in mind, so that each step you take toward your divorce is in the right direction. When you got married, you hired many different professionals (in addition to a lawyer for a prenup). Diving into your divorce with only an attorney will lead to exorbitant legal fees, lots of fighting, and years of court appearances before any sort of resolution.

Are you a lawyer?

Yes: I graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2014. I am a member of the New York State Bar, in good standing, since 2015.

Are you *My* lawyer?

Nope! This is important. I am not your lawyer! This is not a law firm. I do not provide legal advice or services.

All of our conversations are completely confidential. That said, there is no attorney-client privilege protecting our communications. In the highly unlikely event that I am called to testify at your divorce trial, the attorney-client privilege does not shield our communications. We can discuss if you’re concerned.

I don’t live in New York; Can you still help me?

Yes. I support clients nation wide. Since each state has different divorce laws, you will need to hire a divorce lawyer in your state. Since I am not your lawyer, I can help clients anywhere!

Actually, I have questions about _________. Can you help?

Absolutely! I love brainstorming with you. If I can’t help you, I probably know someone who can.
